Secrets of a Fashion Director You eat right, don’t you? You exercise all the time, well mostly…kinda sort of? You are getting healthier and feeling it too right? Great! Well how come you’re not losing the weight. It’s frustrating but losing those pounds takes time and of course we want to look good now! Hey, we all know no-pain no-gain, its eat less, more healthily and exercise regularly if we want to hit the mark. But we want instant results! Then there is good news for you! Here are 5 ways to look slimmer without having to wait another minute. Anybody can look 5 to 20 lbs slimmer just by using a few fashion tricks. Your aim is to balance the look around your body with no one part more prominent than the other. If one part doesn’t look right in relation to the others, start there first. 1. Body Shapers – these are not your moma’s girdles. Today there are high-tech fabrics to compress your size, smooth your bumps and give you an invisible way to look 2-3 dress sizes smaller. The fabrics are used in under garments as well as outer wear and invisibly slim or control your figure. If you whole body is lumpy, for example, there are full body shapers to help you. If it’s just your tummy, then perhaps a [waist cincher] is all you need. 2. Forget about size tags – It’s as simple as buying the right size clothes. Too many of us go for that size 8 when we know a size 10 or 12 will feel better, and look better as well. Psychologically it feels better to squeeze into the 8, physically though we look bulgingly heavy. If you’ve ever been properly fitted for a bra then you know what I’m talking about. I used to wear the wrong bra without realizing it. When I was educated on how to choose the right bra it felt like Independence day! Not only did I feel better, everything looked better on me. It’s the same with clothes – get the right size sister. 3. Watch out for the fabrics you wear. Rigid or heavy materials as well as clingy static type fabrics that stick to your body will magnify every bump and lump. There are some new cotton blends or even polyester/spandex mixes that hang well and won’t break the bank. Your object is to find clothes that drape well and don’t hug hard. |
